Changelog
Every notable change to Convo, newest first.
A running log of what's new, improved, and fixed across Convo — the admin portal and the visitor experience. For the highlights in plain English, see What's new.
July 17, 2026
A new Promotion tab in Settings gives you a ready-to-use signage kit for each tour. You can download print-ready PDFs in four formats — A-frame poster, gallery poster, table tent, and a stop chip sheet — along with copy snippets and a launch checklist to help you get your tour in front of visitors.
July 16, 2026
Address suggestions from Google Places now work properly when typing in dialogs — previously they appeared but could only be selected with the keyboard. Clicking a suggestion now works as expected.
July 15, 2026
Organizations with multiple physical locations can now manage each venue separately. Content, publishing, and analytics are scoped per venue, so a brand operating several sites (e.g. Amsterdam, Barcelona, and London) can keep everything neatly separated under one account. Single-venue organizations see no change.
You can now set a brand accent color for your organization (Settings → Organization → Brand). The color is applied to your visitor-facing tour pages, giving guests a more on-brand experience.
July 11, 2026
Export options are now available directly from stop row menus and the bulk-action toolbar on the stops page, replacing the previous audio-only download option with the full Export action.
July 10, 2026
You can now export a tour or individual stops as a ZIP file containing scripts for each language, audio files, images, and a metadata summary. The export also includes a Bloomberg Connects mapping file, making it easy to hand off content for Bloomberg Connects integrations. A staleness indicator in the manifest flags any content that may be out of date.
July 7, 2026
Visitor text chat now maintains context across the full conversation, so follow-up questions are answered with awareness of what was already discussed rather than treating each message as a fresh query.
The explore page now shows the "Every object has something to say." headline again above the search bar.
Accessibility improvements across the visitor app now meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards, making the experience work better for visitors using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies.
Text files in the file drawer now display in a properly sized, scrollable view instead of stretching the page, and file contents load correctly without errors.
June 23, 2026
Send a private contributor link to an artist, curator, or subject-matter expert so they can record or upload narration for a specific stop — no Convo account needed. Generate the link from the stop page and share it directly; their recording is attached to the stop once submitted.
You can now paste or type text directly into the file upload dialog instead of uploading a file. Great for adding notes, descriptions, or any reference content without needing to create a separate document first.
Text-based reference files (including anything you've pasted in) can now be edited directly inside the file drawer — just make your changes and save, without re-uploading.
The audio upload/record control is now visible on brand-new blank stops, so you can upload or record narration straight away — the audio will be transcribed and used to fill in the script automatically.
The visitor app now meets WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA accessibility standards. Screen readers receive proper labels and live announcements throughout the audio player, chat, voice, and sign-in screens; color contrast has been improved across the interface; and full keyboard navigation is supported throughout the app.
Microphone access now works correctly on the contributor recording page — visitors sent a contributor link can record without being blocked by a browser permissions error.
Newly created stops now appear instantly in your tour and open automatically for editing — no more needing to refresh the page to see them.
June 22, 2026
You can now upload a real human recording as the narration for any stop. On the stop page, use the new Audio menu to upload an audio file; it is automatically transcribed and set as the stop's script, so translations and voices in other languages update from it just like normal.
June 19, 2026
The headline
The app tagline is now translated into all supported languages rather than always appearing in English.
The
The welcoming headline "Every object has something to say." is restored on the explore page, so visitors see the expected introduction when they first land on the tour.
A network hiccup or an app update no longer leaves visitors on a blank error screen. The app now detects the problem and reloads automatically.
June 17, 2026
Tour names, stop names, and descriptions are now automatically translated into visitor languages when you publish a tour, so visitors always see content in their preferred language without any extra steps.
The entire visitor interface — buttons, menus, labels, and the explore page — now automatically appears in the visitor's browser language. French, German, Spanish, Italian, and English are supported, with no action needed from guests. QR code links continue to work as before.
June 13, 2026
Welcome emails are no longer sent twice when subscribing with a card.
June 12, 2026
You can now cancel or resume your plan directly from the Plan & Billing tab without visiting the Stripe portal.
Clicking a file now opens a slide-out drawer with preview, details, and actions — consistent with the Tours and Collection experience.
The supported language catalog has expanded from 11 to 40 languages, including right-to-left languages like Arabic and Hebrew.
Large CSV imports are now processed in chunks with a live progress bar, so big collections import reliably without timing out. You can also mark items as scannable during import.
Exhibitions are now searchable and navigable from the command palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K).
When creating a tour from an exhibition, you can now set the tour name before it's created (defaults to the exhibition name).
The app now supports 40 languages. Tours written in right-to-left languages (such as Arabic or Hebrew) now display with the correct right-to-left text layout.
Creating a new stop now opens it directly in the slide-out drawer, and clicking any stop on the All Stops page opens the drawer instead of navigating away.
The
The explore page now shows the headline "Every object has something to say." again above the search bar, restoring the welcoming introduction visitors see when they first browse the tour collection.
Guide answers now display formatted text correctly — bold, italic, bullet lists, and links appear as intended instead of showing raw punctuation marks.
The Studio plan's tour limit now counts only published tours, not drafts — unpublishing a tour correctly frees a slot for a new one.
Files with special characters (accents, dashes, non-Latin characters) in their names can now be previewed and downloaded without errors.
The Exhibitions table no longer stretches past the viewport when an exhibition has a long name or description.
Visitor analytics events are now correctly recorded — both anonymous and signed-in visitor events were being rejected due to a policy drift.
Stops can now be removed from the floor-plan map correctly, and dragging markers to reposition them is more responsive.
The language picker during onboarding now scrolls within a fixed-height box so the Back and Continue buttons are always reachable.
Upgrading to a paid plan no longer fails at checkout. A misconfiguration could cause the payment page to return an error when attempting to subscribe — this is now resolved.
Resuming a tour no longer causes audio to briefly restart from the beginning before jumping to the saved position.
The sign-in screen now recovers automatically if the verification step encounters a transient network issue, rather than getting stuck.
The "Read in full" link for stop transcripts is now always shown, and the chat panel no longer has an unwanted gap between the header and the message list.
June 11, 2026
Analytics and the activity log now track exhibition views and collection item views alongside tour and stop events.
Collection item rows in the Q&A Audit now show the item's image thumbnail for easier identification.
Content staleness now cascades correctly through the pipeline: updating your English script marks translations and audio as out-of-date, so the one-click update covers the full chain.
Manually edited translations are now protected — regenerating audio no longer overwrites scripts you've customized by hand.
Tour and stop creation limits now correctly reflect your current plan — a prior billing update had left some limit checks reading outdated values.
Tours from inactive or lapsed accounts now correctly stop loading for visitors, so QR codes no longer serve content after an account has been deactivated or not renewed.
June 10, 2026
The sign-in page now includes bot protection to keep automated signups off the platform.
A 30-day cardless pilot is available — start authoring immediately and activate your pilot from the Plan & Billing tab when you're ready, so you don't burn trial days during initial setup.
After cancelling a plan, the billing tab now correctly shows "Ends [date]" instead of "Renews [date]."
Publishing tours was incorrectly blocked for some paid accounts after the billing system update — publishing now works correctly for all active subscribers.
Switching between monthly and annual billing now takes you directly to the confirmation step in the billing portal instead of a dead-end landing page.
The dashboard greeting (Good morning / afternoon / evening) and date now correctly reflect your local time instead of the server's UTC clock.
PDF files now preview correctly inside the portal — they were previously blocked from loading in the preview panel.
Sign-in stopped working after a security update to the authentication system — visitors can now sign in reliably again.
Signed-in visitors sometimes saw a blank page or an endless loading spinner when opening an exhibition. The page now loads correctly without needing a hard refresh.
June 9, 2026
Self-serve billing is now available — choose from Studio, Institution, or Enterprise plans with a 30-day free trial. ACH bank transfer is supported alongside card payments.
The Plan & Billing settings tab has been redesigned with clearer plan details, trial status, and billing interval information.
June 8, 2026

Individual pages for collection items and exhibitions are now available in the visitor app, giving guests a dedicated place to explore details and listen to related content.

The audio tour player no longer stutters or briefly restarts at the beginning when listening in a non-English language.

A new Exhibitions page lets you create and manage exhibitions — add items, link tours, set dates, and view everything in a slide-out drawer.
June 6, 2026
The Insights section has been redesigned: Q&A Audit and Q&A Reports are now separate pages under a collapsible Insights menu, with improved filter controls using consistent dropdown selectors.
Importing collection items with images no longer fails intermittently — the import now automatically retries image downloads that are temporarily rate-limited by the source server.
June 5, 2026
Tours, Stops, Collection, and Files list pages now show on-brand empty states with a helpful description and a direct action button when no content exists yet — no more plain gray placeholders.
Tour generation progress now shows real script and audio counts (e.g. "8 / 15") instead of a placeholder, and cycles through helpful tips while you wait.
The Audio Preview modal has been fully redesigned — cleaner layout with script text alongside the audio player, language switcher, and playback controls.
The Create Stop dialog has been redesigned to match the Tour Generator style, with clearer step headings and choice cards.
The Tour Overview and Maps tabs now use a two-card layout, making cover image and metadata easier to find and edit.
The Tours list now shows status directly on each row (no separate column needed), and the non-functional Filter button has been removed.
Stop and tour pages with many stops now load content status significantly faster — status is fetched in one batch request instead of one per stop.
Tours that got stuck in a permanent "Generating" state (due to a server interruption) now automatically recover instead of staying frozen.
QR codes and visitor preview links now always point to the correct visitor app address.
Analytics day and week buckets now align to your local calendar — "today" was sometimes showing yesterday's data for venues west of UTC.
Audio generation was intermittently failing on some server environments; it now runs reliably without depending on a self-call that could time out.
Navigating to the Analytics page no longer briefly flashes a loading skeleton every time.
June 3, 2026
The Convo app icon shown in browser tabs and on home screens has been updated to match the current Convo branding.
Analytics dashboard now shows accurate visitor counts and KPIs for busy tours. Previously, organisations with a lot of activity could see zeros and –100% change figures on the dashboard even when visitors were actively using their tours.
Visitor activity (tour plays, stop listens) now correctly appears in your analytics dashboard and activity feed. Events were previously being recorded without the necessary organisation link, making them invisible in all admin views.
The reference files upload area now correctly states the 4 MB file size limit, instead of incorrectly showing 25 MB.
June 1, 2026
Suggested conversation starters in the chat are now the custom prompts set by your team for each stop, rather than generic default questions.
The language picker is now visible to all visitors scanning a QR code. Previously, guests could not see language options even when multiple languages were available on a tour.

A slide-in stop editor opens right on the tour page, so you can review and edit a stop's script and chat with the AI without leaving the page.
May 27, 2026
Polished the stop editor — the script stays readable in dark mode, the floating chat no longer covers your text, and rows respond more cleanly to clicks.
